I use a 2-flute ball nose end mill for drilling into ABS all the time, but I would be cautious in other materials. In that parts case, it was being run on my Fadal, which takes about 15 seconds to change tools. Drilling that hole and doing a little profiling with that end mill was the only things that needed to be done.

عرض المزيدMill Type Overview. Three types of mill design are common. The Overflow Discharge mill is best suited for fine grinding to 75 – 106 microns.; The Diaphram or Grate Discharge mill keeps coarse particles within the mill for additional grinding and typically used for grinds to 150 – 250 microns.; The Center-Periphery Discharge mill has feed reporting from both …
عرض المزيدThe ratio of active mill shell surface area to ball charge surface area for the 5.0 meter (16½ foot) unit, is roughly half of that for the 2.4 meter (8 foot) unit. However, the actual ratios are so small (1 or 2 percent) that the amount of grinding at the shell is likely of little significance for either size.
